Hey Himadriji,
YOUR SPEED IS SUPERFASSSTTTTTT....
THANKS FOR THE PROMPT REPLY....
Just one more thing...can I also know how to set the SCANNER feature for giving me the scrips which are in the BUY zone...or rather the scrips for which the BUY signal has started today i.e. after updating todays data and then using the scanner....
OR ELSE, IF U HAVE ANY OTHER SCANNER INDICATOR WHICH U'VE BEEN WORKING ON FOR SOME TIME AND HAVE FOUND IT EFFECTIVE....

Thanking you in anticipation...

Dear Himdriji,
One more question for regarding the Trend Reversal...
I used the standard buy/sell signals parameters posted in this forum, as follows:
EMA : 9, 12, 26
SMA : 13, 30, 200
MACD1 : 12, MACD2 : 26 AND MACD SIGNAL : 9
VOLUME EMA : 21
Now put the following formulas in condition (1) and (2) :-
Condition 1 : (PREVIOUS MACDLINE < PREVIOUS MACDSIGNAL AND MACDLINE >MACDSIGNAL) AND (MA2 > PREVIOUS MA2 AND VOLUME > MAVOL)
Condition 2 : (PREVIOUS MACDLINE > PREVIOUS MACDSIGNAL AND MACDLINE < MACDSIGNAL) AND (MA2 < PREVIOUS MA2)

Another post had a mention of TREND direction... as follows,
Fchart users may use the following formulas for zig zig swing. It is not a buy or sell formula. With help of the formula you can find the trend of the stock very easily on the main chart i.e whether the stock is in uptrend ( higher top & higher bottom formation) or in downtrend ( lower top & lower bottom formation).
Condition (1) : LOW = LOWEST_LOW[5] AND LOW = LOWEST_LOW[-5] AND LOW * -1
Condition (2) : HIGH = HIGHEST_HIGH[5] AND HIGH = HIGHEST_HIGH[-5] AND HIGH * -1

I tried integrating them in formulae 3 and 4 (formula 1 and 2 are the MACD's mentioned earlier) and was wondering if I could get a point where I should exit my long / short...But there are too many signals and its confusing...
I'm enclosing a ZOOMED view of RIL for Friday 11Apr2008.
Can you pkls chk the same and revert with a suitable formula for 3 - SO THAT I CAN EXIT MY LONG / SHORT...

ALSO, one more question, I am taking the feed from QT, but the time starts from 00.00 hrs (as u can see in the file enclosed). Can you pls guide me as to how can I change the time to match our Indian Stock Exchange timings...please i.e.0955 to 1530hrs.

Thanking you in anticipation...
warm regards...rajesh bhapkar

Dear Himdariji,
Tried the above signal. AS YOU RIGHTLY POINTED OUT, THERE R FREQUENT SIGNALS...HENCE WOULD NOT PREFER THIS...THANKS FOR YOUR HELP...
In my earlier post, I was trying to upload RIL file, but since size was bigger than 100K, it could not be loaded.
I am enclosing the REL CAP intraday (small part of the same) to help you get what I'm trying to say...i.e. where to exit the long / short position...if by some way, I can get the signal...say through formulae 3....

warm regards...rajesh bhapkar

Dear Rajesh,

You have several queries on formula set up. But before coming to your point first let me clear your views on condition 3 & condtion 4 which works in reverse order of condtion 1 & 2. i.e Any buy signal is to be put in condition 1 or condition 4 and similarly sell signal formula is to be put in either 2 or 3. You can use two pairs of buy and sell signal in fchart pro at a time to have different stratigy.

Further please note that whenever you write any set of formulas that should have a unique name so that whenever scanning is done you could easily select the set of formula's. I have already explained in this thread on how to save different formulas.

In condition 3 and condition 4, you may use formula based on CCI which is quite effective :-

Condition 3 : CCI < -100 AND CCI < CCI2

Condition 4 : CCI > 100 AND CCI > CCI2

Condition 3 is sell signal and condtion 4 is buy signal. You can use formula's on MACD or Trend in condition 1 & 2. Try to find out which set of formulas suits your requirement. But please note that CCI buy or sell is a very strong signal which you can follow in intraday or eod charts.

When you want to scan your formula first select pair of formula in condtion 1 & 2 or condition 3 and 4. For condition 1 & 2, scanning result of buy and sell will come in matched condition 1 & 2 respectively and for condition 3 & 4, scanning result of buy and sell in matched condition 2 & 1 respectively. Hope the same is clear to you.

Cheers

Himadri

Dear Himadri,
Thanks a TONNNNEEEE for the precious and timely help....
One more question....How do I adjust the time (on the time scale) to be set to Indian time...
Currently, it is showing me 0000hrs as start of trading session...Ideally it should be showing start time as 0955hrs to 1530hrs...
I am taking the feed from QT...

Dear Himadriji

I enclose a formula given by Ashishda in the Kolkata meet.

"The EoD Exploration of "Kolkata Meet" indicator in Metastock:=

You can put this in Filter section of exploration.
.................................................. ...............................
a:= FmlVar("Kolkata Meet","J1") ;
If( Ref(a,-1) > Ref(C,-1) AND a < C,1,0);
.................................................. ............................

Asish

For Sell just change the last line as ...............

.................................................. ...............................
a:= FmlVar("Kolkata Meet","J1") ;
If( Ref(a,-1) < Ref(C,-1) AND a > C,1,0);
.................................................. ......................."

Kindly if you can explain the same in FChart language

Thks

Dear Himadriji

With ref to the above zig zag swing please advise whether my understanding is right or not w.r.t. stop loss

For Buy: If Condn 1 is triggered, we wait for the next day to check whether the Cond 1 repositions or not. If not, we enter the trade (long) with a Stop Loss = 0.98 of C1_Close

For Sell: If Condn 2 is triggered, we wait for the next day for checking whether the Cond 2 repositions. If not, we Enter short with Stop Loss = 1.02 of C2_Close

Is my surmise correct?

For Buy: If condition 1 is triggered, wait for stock to close above C1_high which may be tomorrow or day after which would be more prudent buy and stop loss would be 0.98 *C1_low. Another set up is Close above C2_high i.e higher pivot.

For Sell : If condition 2 is triggered, wait for next days onward to close below C2_low to short with stop loss 1.02 * C2_high. Another set up close below C1-low with stop loss 1.02 C1_high.

Cheers

Thanks. Regarding the second setup for Buy i.e. Close above c2_high, can this be put in Condition 4?
Similarly can Condition 3 be used for the second setup for Sell, i.e. Close below c1_low?
