If you have source for Index volume data, definitely it can be imported to Fchart or any other softwares.

Index Future data is available in nse with volume which can be downloaded. As index is not traded, its volume data is not available in nse.

When you say Index Future Data

I should use FUTIDX-NIFTY data on NSE website and for volume use column
"Turnover in Lacs"?

Use column "No. of contracts" as volume in Future data.

One last question:

Which contract to use? There are 1 month, 2 month, 3 month Contracts?

Or

Should I sum all three and use?

I was trying to match figues with volume figures shown on Icharts and they differ. Any idea what I am missing here?

Only current month (1 month) contract is to be considered.

The 1 month Contract no of contracts (Volume) = 768401 (10-mar-2008)

But on icharts it show 16450

Can you explain the difference? or it is irelevant and using future volume is also correct?

I have no idea about ichart data. Nifty future volume data from nse is always considered to be authenticated.
