Can Tata Steel be bought at current market price of Rs.480 with a long term view of 6 months to 1 year? Do u think that by takeover of Corus the price of Tata Steel will go up? Year 2007,is the centenary year of Tata Steel.
Will Tatas give some benefit to shareholders of Tata Steel by bonus or a special dividend in the 100th year?

commodity stocks are very volatile and one has to enter it if one has the heart to see the up's and down's. Tata Steel is a good company, if you stay for 6 months to 1 year you will get sufficient upside. About the corus deal one has to see how it affects the book of Tata Steel.

To endorse further the opinion of SAAMY...

Scrip like TISCO is gold in long term. I will give you my example.I picked up 5 shares of TISCO in 1986 @ 1286 (face value 100) from then onwards it has given me dividends, bonuses, debentures etc etc. and my actual buy value came down to Rs.54.00(face value 10) Recently I sold some to book profits and to diversify. Currently it is showing 800% gains(with the reduced quantity of shares)...but the gains must have been higher earlier..
So I think you should pick up on dips (that is true for any scrip) and forget. Dont track it evreyday. There are chances it may go down for a while because all that is happening because of takeover bid etc...

Dear Mitesh ,...

Tata Steel Is Definately A Good Company As An Individual. I Dont Know What Would Be The Impact Of Corus Deal. But Currently The Way All The Metals R Reacting To The Market, Its Not Wise To Enter In Tata Steel.

Ya ,.. Technically If U Ask Me , I Would Definately Suggest U Sail In This Sector ,.. A Good Stock With Good Fundamentals N Definately A Good Chart Pattern In The Technical View . I Think It Will Give U More Return After 1 Year Or So Other Then Tata Steel.

And About Harmads ,.. A Definately Great Comment , Thanx For Sharing Such Information With Us. But Mitesh U Should Also See The Time Of Mr Harmads Investments ( 1986 Entry - 2006 Hold/exit ) ,.. See The Time Frame ,,

Regards...
Darsh

well corus is a leveraged buy, and its gonna increase the debts in the books heavily. No doubt abt tisco being a Gud co. And one more thing is that the deal hasnt gone thru. CSN along withh its allied Banks hav recently bought >11% stake in Corus.

for a long term investorTisco is a must have. But dont look for a shorter time frame. Have a farther viewpoint. U will ofcorse make gud money as Mr harmeds hav already stated.

Thanks
