will all stocks goes down when nifty goes down ???

Guyz i have some good stocks in my portfolio i think and it goes well. But whichever be the stock, when the nifty states corrections for 2,3, days all stocks are coming down and entire profit made in 1 month becomes NILL during the correction. All stocks are getting badly affected when NIFTY comes down. All stocks in my portfolio have good fundamentals and cash flow. But now i fear if this NIFTY comes to 5000-6000 levles, will all my stocks hit the deck even if those companies are performing well in terms of profit and growth . Experts please advice .

For this you need to understand what is NIFTY first. Nifty is a stock index introduced by National Stock Exchange similar to SENSEX which was introduced by BSE. NIFTY comes from the words "NATIONAL" and "FIFTY". Fifty because the index is based on the 50 actively trader stocks from various sectors. Obviously if NIFTY is going down it means most of these shares (not all) or the average change in percentage of these shares is going down and hence it affects the stocks. You can do a google search on how NIFTY/SENSEX is calculated. There are other sub indexes as well like for midcap and smallcap which you should know about as well.

No Nifty is average index. even market is falling some stocks goes up , some stocks down slowly and some are like stone fall. Thats the reason why market is exiting place. Only smart one makes money on up / down side .
I am also learning. We must learn to take profit ans stack at safe scripts and some in cash.

If your stocks are consistently under performing Nifty in a bull market then sell them and buy Nifty ETF instead. I usually churn out the stocks that do not make new highs with the index for the ones that do to keep portfolio healthy.
