Old STocks

#1
I found a file full of stock certificates in the office today which I think belonged to my late grandfather. I tried searching for the stocks on BSE hoping I had just found my big inheritance :D but no free lunches today as almost all of the scrips are either suspended on the BSE of have no trace whatsoever. I am shooting in the dark here and I know that in all probability, I am not going to hit anything but still :D

Can I get anything for these stocks except for a quote from the local kabadi? :)

Any help would be appreciated. I am attaching a list of the stocks below.

AKS Credit Ltd.
Bhupendra Capital & Finance
Classic Press International
Digiflex India Ltd.
Orkay Silk Mills Ltd.
India International Marketing
Jay Vinyl Ltd.
Marnite Polycot Ltd.
Maruti Syntex
Oriental Remedies
Reliance Enterprises Ltd.
Sturdy Polymers
Krishna Synthetics Ltd.
Swet Chem Antibiotics Ltd.
Kuber Auto General Finance & Leasing Ltd.

Thanks all.

Hello my frnd. Just like u im also a benificiary of my Grandfathers property. Hope u dont think his assets were a waste.
Solution :www.google.co.in. And iv found almost all ur companies. Most of them had name changes. Pls search with the company name in the google seacrh box.
Y dont u contact a broker and tell him u wanna open an a/c if u dont have one. And if u already hav one u can contact ur broker. Usualy they hav all the informations and they might do this kind of favor to u for business.

Seniors pls hlp

The problem is that as most of the scrips are either suspended or are not listed anymore on any exchange anymore, I don't think my broker would be able to help me out. In any case I'll talk to him on Monday but I was wondering if there is anyway to cross check the price of these stocks before selling them to someone. I have no hassles if the broker or whoever charges me somehwhat less than the actual price but I don't want to get ripped off either.

Not a bad idea, maybe they could fetch some antique value.........look son, this is what we used to call "A SHARE." :D. But seriously, judging by the response, it seems that maybe the only option left. Any other bright ideas anyone? I am wondering how many other people might be stuck with such shares and also that if a company changes its name, gets taken over or otherwise goes through any kind of restructuring, don't they have a responsibility towards their previous shareholders?

sorry to dissapoint u my frnd....... but i dont think so........ every time a company shuts down, gets taken over orgoes thru any kind of restucting, there is always a word in public about it (either thru newspapers, T.V, radio etc.)........ but sorry to say that either your elders were not that well informed OR they were victims of a harshad mehta type guy................... :(
