Hi
My dad holds 84 shares of SBIN since around 2005(at that time there was no system of DEMAT).He's an employee in SBI.

Actually he doesn't even have a online trading account.I want to know:

1.When to sell SBIN shares(as experts say this year nifty is going highest)?
2.His shares are on paper, is it mandatory to open a trading and demat account
with SBI only to sell those shares or he can open these accounts with any
provider like zerodha or ventura etc.?

Physical shares need to be dematerialised to Sell ! Yes he would need to open a Trading as well as demat account to just sell these shares.
However you father can always transfer the Physical shares in your name and you can get them in Demat form in your demat account and sell them through your trading account.
It is a difficult call to take : When to Sell SBI shares? Just keep in mind, no one can catch the TOP . As SBI is a Blue Chip, think of Selling only when funds are required. Technically (and whatever little is my knowledge) the nearest LONG TERM support comes around 2169 ! One can exit SBI if it closes below this level for Medium Term it is ~2359 and for short term it seems to me ~2459 !

SBIN is hiiting weekly resistance now , if you inted to sell then ,selling half the number of shares now is gr8.price might evn break the resistance and go higher, but why take a chance. or you can close the whole position at 2336 support level.(if price falls down)
