Did u buy or sell ?? Why

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you all know that I am starting this thread for the senior members as well as junior members.

I have marked that we do the best amount of research for the stocks we are personally buying and selling. Well in this thread we can discuss which stocks we (juniors and Seniors) are buying and selling and what's the reason for doing so.
For all of us,well its rather difficult to keep a mark on all the stocks and we basically miss out on many profit making transactions. This cause will be helped by this thread as we will come to know wats going on all over the market.

Well I being a new member to this team here, I would like to say this forum has done a lot for me. I entered market in Dec 2005 made a lot of money till May.
Well also lost a lot in May-Jun because I didnt follow rules, became overconfident. And at one point of time I was standing there looking at markets from a distance and thinking of leaving it. And suddenly a post popped up from the great Saint and there I was jumping again.

Just one post from him can be so inspiring and here I am making money again.

Thanks Saint. Thanks a lot.

I also love threads from all senior members and I really love the environment around here - so family like.

Hope all of u will contribute to this thread.

Hi Eskay,

Thank you for your warm remarks,my friend......although the word "great" before Saint may have been a bit extreme. All there in the charts, all said and practised for hundreds of years by many,so no credit to me,my friend.

But I am happy that you are making profits.Great going.

Just a piece of advice:I am not sure if you are a long term investor or a short term trader,or an intermediate one.If you went long recently and made some money off the present move, few things to consider.

Are we merely in a rally within an intermediate downtrend? If so,time for caution. We may revert this rally and see newer lows.Time for exits on longs.

Is this,on the other hand, the beginning of a new intermediate uptrend with the lows of the June 16th week being the bottom? Are we going to go sideways from here and then blast off?If so,all your longs are great entries and as we go higher, may be you need to add to your positions.

The problem is :Which one is it?That verily is the problem.......nobody can really say for absolute certainty, and therefore the time for caution,as the markets can go either way from here.

If you are a long term investor, good entries and I suppose, one more dip and you could add more. But if you are an intermed to short term trader, best to take some profits and for the rest, keep a stop loss of 2890(NIFTY).And think of reentering if it forms a higher pivot low.And if it goes on to make new lows, count your blessings that you are out of this drop.

Basically a time for caution........

Good Luck on your thread, and all the best!

Saint has raised some v valid questions :

Let me supplement his post with some comments of my own (See link for ready referencehttp://in.finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=%5ENSEI&t=6m&l=off&z=l&q=l&c=

What he probably means, in context of highlighted point above, is :

Has the old primary bull uptrend (since 2003) resumed from mid June, in which case we are likely to see the old peak (3780 nifty) being crossed in a few weeks/mths, and then full steam ahead to higher peaks.

Am I right , Saint ?

Thank you Saint, Thanks a lot for your advice.
Thank you Agilent and Amit for writing into this thread.

Well Saint,
I am an intermediate one and this time around i am strongly practicing with stoploss feature. for every stock i have bought I have calculated some amount of stoploss and as the prices are moving up I am moving my stoploss up for e.g.

I bought Mahindra Gesco at 574.00 and had a stoploss of 538.00 in mind. My stoploss now is 594.00.
