When will the downslide stop?

#1
Hi everybody,

I think , like me everybody must be having the same question.
Why such a huge downslide in Sensex?

To be frank I am not much into technicalities of share prices.
But looking at the current performance of India Inc. in general ,this downslide is not justified.

Is this manipulated?
I heard more than 4 mega FIIs are going to open India operations by September.

Can you all please share your opinions and cheer me up.

Thanks,

Adish

Surely u know how the market went up from 3000 to 12000 .... after years of stagnancy !

When u eat a hellava lot of food at one go, u r bound to get indigestion , correct ? So u have to give time to your stomach to settle down.

Thats what is happening in the markets.

What we are going thru' is probably a bear market, Adish. And according to theory (borne out by empirical evidence), bear markets can retrace easily over one third of the previous (bull market) rise.

Hope that makes it clearer.

3000 - 12000 in three years - is that justified?

yes the meltdown, particularly in midcaps and small caps are matter of concerns, but one must understand corrections are part and parcel of the game. greater the rise greater the fall.

the correction is not India specific. India is a part of a Global process. one can manipulate a script or a bunch of script. but not the whole global process.

during the early 90's the big bull manipulated the whole market. even in 2000 ketan parekh led the ICE rally. but since then our market has come a long way to be influenced or manipulated by on person or a cartel. yes we still lack depth in many areas. individual script can be manipulated but not the market in whole. theres enough depth in the Indian financial system that cushions us from the whims of any single person or cartel.

hmmmm...I still believe, we are in a downtrend in a BULL market...the bearish market has not yet arrived.....

ya, someone here was mentioning about the markets being manipulated...
Dear, if you look at the markets of 1990-92, people could easily dominate market with 50 Cr......We've done a lot journey from that point...This market would need atleat 1 lac crore to be manipulated to a very small extent..No single person may have that wealth...so forget about markets being manipulated...a particular stock can be manipulated......VSNL, WIPRO, Century Tex etc are some such examples...

Ganesh

I hope and pray for everyone's sake (all bulls' sake anyway) that your assessment is right, and that all are better prepared for the bear market if and when that arrives

PS But I do believe dear Ganesh, that we are in a regular bear market

Given the huge negative sentiment now in the market, people losing hope on the market, U might see minor rally pretty soon. But, thats just a correction to the existing oversold market condition. We have to look at the volume of these rallies to judge the scope of them. The test will be 200 day EMA. For any positive to happen, market indexes must climb back above 200 day EMA.
