Piyush, Thanks for the chart. Can you please provide Tick Data for Nifty Future with Volume from 1:30pm to 3pm in CSV or Excel file and upload it in www.thexyz.net website then copy paste the Forum link of that file here! (If that data is very big then try for 14:08 to 14:37 only).

forgot to add this bit -

ok. now for everyone here first of all understand the chart.. a tick chart is chart not based upon a unit of time like 1 mins,5 mins, 60 mins, but based on tick. So each time a unique trade happens, the chart will update. Its a line chart and not a candle chart.

Now for all those on media and tV saying that this was due to someone making a wrong trade etc is all bullshit. This was simple a case of an algo gone berserk.. Before the huge plunge look at the line carefully.. it hardly moved.. then suddenly it started doing the 10 points up down.. it did that for 3-4 times.. then it did a couple of 50 point up downs.. finally it started doing 150point, 230 point plunge and recovery's.. i don't which trader trading manually might have done this.. doesn't make much sense to me in that argument..

anyways.. the chart is very very interesting...

one can see that this starts at 14:25... this entire thing happened within the period of 1 minute... 14:26 would be a little to the right

Hi Piyush,

Agree completely with you....most times I am able to detect the HFTs at work... today was just away for a while when it happened...!!!

It happens everyday but with not with same intensity seen today & last Friday....!!!

Have shot off an email to SEBI & NSE..... content of the email expresses absolute disgust and what a Sell Out SEBI (Regulator) & Exchanges have been, bending over backwards to make it even more perilous for Investor & Traders.
Also if they don't take immediate remedial steps with their Policy & Guidelines......have threatened in no uncertain words to reveal all their misdeeds to the general investing & trading public.....!!!

Thanks For The Chart...!!!

What data are you using? I am presently using ESignal and looking for cheaper alternatives in tick format

Savantji,

Your initiative of fighting for the injustices heaped on hapless retailers is highly commendable.

Many times i have felt, what SEBI or any regulatory body is meant for. Are they meant to protect us or to connive with Manipulators. Otherwise, there is no way any Exchange would get away scotfree from such atrocities.

Sad fact is that we traders are so timid, ever willing to bear all the indignities heaped on us. :)
