Default Feel bad for CNBC Anchor.

Yes,today the looks on the faces of Udayan and Mitali was not bearable,a smile of capitulation on the face of Udayan and the barely audible voice of Mitali. The vigour was gone as if life had been sucked ouut of them.Maybe some will say they were long, but u gotta feel for these guys, because day in and day out they had analysed our markets in the great bull run ,now irony of ironies they bear witness to the bears runnin amok.

He stated that as long as he is with CNBC neither he nor his family members will own any share. He also had disclosed that in his entire life time he had purchsed only one company's share, that too through one of his cousin. That was TV 18. That was the only one transaction in his lifetime. I was indeed taken aback by this disclosure. Also, if I remember it right, NDTV Profit anchor Nikunj Dalmia had disclosed on TV once that he is not having any position in any share as he is TV anchor. I guess (only guessing) that there may be rules prohibiting them from owning shares so as to avoid coloured views and biased opinions. If anybody has got any accurate information on this, please post it here.

I find it very hard to believe Mr Udayan disclosure.

Their faces these days tell it all.....they might not be holding it in their personal names, but family, friends, etc.

The brokers seemed undeterred as they have nothing to lose...buy or sell, they make money!!!

I am not sure of CNBC but I know for a fact that NDTV prohibits everyone associated with NDTV profit channel from investing directly in stocks. They are allowed to get in thru Mutual Funds and the only stock they can buy is NDTV.

Some of the senior folks in that channel actually had to cash out their portfolios when they were moved to the PROFIT channel..

its very normal for any any tv channel or as a matter of fact any economic daily to have such policies of not letting their research people to transact in any stock.

but when you look at the current market price of the stocks, which they have recommended, it tells a painful story. it leaves too many questions in ones mind, which really challenges the integrity of such persons.

and let us not forget as an analyst you really do not need only to buy and sell stock for making a living.

Does anyone know about the Personal Account dealing policies of Financial Institution employees.
Are they allowed to trade freely in the market, restricted or prohibited?

thanks
