Hi All
Human beings are intelligent beings. The intellingence lies in the ability to learn from past and to plan ahead and to think in terms of rationality and logic. But there are times when this is given a go by and the primal beastial instinct rears up its head. Why do we have riots? Peace is prevailing in the area. Had not history of rioting for past twenty years or fifty years or since the people remember. Suddenly, we see all the people ,whom we condisered normal peace loving neighbors turn into rioters and go on killing those whom they may not know or had no enemity. It is unimagimable to think that they were hidden criminals. They are just showing the mob mentality. This is the most confounding aspect of our mental makeup which converts a man into a beast and then again a normal human beings talking about his post riot problems and how police are hounding him etc. This mob mentality is exhibited in different situations and may not be obviously bloody. But it works on the same principle. It feeds of frenzy. Even saner people fall prey to it. When in this mode, rational faculties of human beings are shut off, adrenaline pumps into action and oneness with rest of the crown emerges.( if police firing is resorted to and a person is dead then at the time of death he may not be the person portrayed later or that he was earlier, but the beast of the most savage type.) I still remember burning of Agricultural college girl students during protest on the arrest of AMMA in TamilNadu. They were not allowed to get out and with them bus was burned at Dhrmapuri. Trial is still going on after so many years.May God bring justice to them. The point is mob mentality unless checked grows to such an extent that it becomes self propelling and selffulfilling act. Gruelsome though it may be. In administrative decision making process this dilemma is often encountered as to how to combat it. The cycle needs to be broken at one point or another. The mob mentality is broken by instilling fear into the masses they themselves will be the target of wrath of the Law in most severest term. That is why Czar has hinted at Scam is coming. But by the time this happens wild dogs would be far away and small vultures and jackals will only be caught. The need is to find ways and means to do this in a manner which benefits Indian Economy without the fear of extreme destabilisation. The market should be allowed to run its course but speculators or scamsters need to be punished most severely then only people will come out of mob mentality. It is intersting to watch how baron's prophecy might become a self fulfilling act in absence of saner elements in the mob.Though I think it may not happen and the cycle will be broken before long. Tomorow morning I think we will gap up for the 1st 5 minutes... the last rally had a foul smell... more like the operators dont want every tom dick & harry shorting, so unless USA drops dead tonight, we may see 150/200 gap up which will dematerialize in matter of minutes after squeezing the shorts...
Some time back I had written a message (not here) that 2 times the market was taken down 1000 points & brought back in 2/3 days up...I wrote that the ops are training the retailers to buy at every dip & next time they will fall for the trap... it did happen... Now I really think this market is having deep cut & been made to recover twice...third time is the real one & even the small time TA's will be trapped thinking its a higher bottom...dont play blind please... I agree Czar and think that the Learners, New comers to Stock markets should wait and watch before buying or even Short Selling. Markets are very volatile in recent days and wait and watch approach should be followed before burning your fingers.

Play intraday if you can. The volatility can be highly rewarding.

Czarji, the big mistake ppl make is trying to time the market, the market is efficient but it can consume noise (read news, policies)its better to ride a trend when it just starts.Of course the sixth sense helps.
