Hi Gurunath..

Good work. Will be very good for amateurs like me and other serious investors. Will comment more once the blog has made some headway..

By the way, your location says Pune, but which time-zone have you selected. All your posts are in AM time zone !!

I want to pick up something in Pharma sector. Can you recommend a name for long term. Also can you comment on Ranbaxy.

Best regards

Hello everybody,

I've posted a script which calculates expected intraday resistance and support levels for scrips bsed on 'Pivot Point analysis' . You just have to fill in your scrip's previous day's close , high and low prices and hit Calculate!!

Enjoy!

GAJ

P.S. I've just observed that the script is not working in mozilla. Let me know if it works for other browser. It was was working with IE6.0 when I posted it.

i have a few thoughts about the pivot calculator.

1) option to select the method of calculation (Woodie's or one of the other ones) may be given to user.

2) instead of manually entering the values of a stock for the previous day's open, high, low, close values, the program can obtain the same from ***** site.

3) A link to the symbol look-up feature of ***** site will be of ready help to get the correct symbol.

4) you may use a cookie to store the previously entered symbols for easy retrieval of pivot values. A typical user swithes between a few stocks on any day.

5) Today's current value can also be displayed for timely decision. for this you may get the current value again from ***** site. If you log-in to ***** and select 'remember me on this computer, you will get live quotes, therwise 15 minute delayed ones.

6) Well, why not you make one deliverable version and release to the members of the forum, so that users may make it their home page? The members of the forum will be very grateful to you.

either on this project, or any other investment related issue, members of this forum, including me will always be too happy to provide any help.

thanks for your courtesy of providing the link. i hope to see your blog site with many more features as time goes on and may transform into a must link for any investor.

all the best in investing too.

hi gaj,
I have checked the site critically and found the pivot-point calculator was working as desired. ( My system Win98 SE with IE6.0).

my observations.
1) The displayed result values of R2,R1,P,S1,S2 may be truncated at 2 decimals.

2) I have entered a CLOSE value less than the LOW value, a CLOSE value higher than the HIGH value and a HIGH value lower than the LOW value and still i am getting the calculated values! I think it is better to add an error checking routine as this will trap at least some of the data entry errors.

hope you don't mind these unkind words on an otherwise good program.

all the best.
