You will get 5 shares of bhel for every one share you hold provided you have bought those shares before exrecord date (a day before the record date is ex record date) of split.Just look for bhel at the bse website.You will get to know the record date when it is announced. Or in Bhels case before the day the price falls close to 1/5th of the previous days close. Bhel had just announced that they will be splitting the shares.They need to get approval from the authorities and the shareholders and then they will announce a record date.They entire process can take 1-3 months, depending on how they get shareholder approval ie by postal vote or at the AGM.
