dividend?
can u please tell me how the dividend is given to the shareholders?
Like if i brought a share of abc company on 15 jan and that company comes out wiyh result on 16 jan. and then i sell that stock on 18 jan. and the company declares a dividend of Rs.x. NOW will i be entitled to the dividend?

Hi
You are entitled to the dividend if u hold the share before the ex-dividend date. Like, if the company declares that 20th jan is the date the share would trade ex-dividend, you would get the dividend only if u buy the shares till 19th(i.e cum dividend) regards vizzie Quote:
