Hi
It is a new bank with less than 7 branches, but supported by Rabo Bank Netherland ( 20% equity) . The bank is planning to open 23 more branches across the country to take the total number to 30 by March 30, 2006. Majority of the branches would be in northern States, while 12 will be located in west, including seven in Maharashtra. Good management with potential to grow if they keep on right path as there is still a need for bank which gives premium to customer convenience and satisfaction rather than profit. They have aggresive growth plans and looking for branch expansion. Lot of capex hence will not show much profit during at leas two year period. You have to keep track of thrie client acquisions and disbursement/deposit growth percentage only in order to evaluate. Long term good investment if it does not go Global Trust Way. ICICI Bank was known as Industrial Credit and Investment corporation of India jointly promoted by WORLD BANK/IMF and Govt of India in bygone era. After privatisation it has grown up and shown the way by growing through utilising modern technology. Its pedigree is impeccable. Yes Bank can not lay claim to such known pedigree in India.
