hi guys,

can users of the new trade tiger from sharekhan tell me how much memory (RAM) would be ideal to run the s/w seamlessly?

my configuration is as follows :

intel D 865 GBF motherboard

intel processor - 2.4 Ghz 800 FSB w/ hyperthreading

memory (RAM) - 2 sticks of 256 mb DDR 400 and 2 sticks of 512 mb DDR 400 (added recently) for a total of 1.5 Gb DDR 400 RAM running dual channel.

bsnl 4 mbps broadband connection.

would this run trade tiger 2.0 without any lag? especially 1.5 Gb DDR 400 ram? or should i get more?

btw i do not have much applications on my pc - no yahoo chat, media players, nothing...just winzip, stocks UP, thats all.

*******************************************************************

NOTE - for bsnl users having frequent disconnection problems, try this...

open browser - type 192.168.1.1 - login - admin - admin -

go to DNS server configuration - uncheck Enable Automatic Assigned DNS - in the box that opens type open DNS server address - 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 - SAVE (most people change it it in windows (TCP/IP) but forget to change it in the modem.

go to TR-069 client - disable it - SAVE/APPLY (leaving it enabled will sometimes not save changes) go to SNMP - Configuration - disable it. SAVE/APPLY (if you dont get links these in IE, open in opera. if using kaspersky like me, dont open opera or IE in safe surf mode/ it wont save changes.

next go to DSL - check G.Dmt, G.Lite, T1.413 and uncheck the rest (adsl 2, annex L, adsl 2+, annex M)

next - Select the phone line pair below - Inner pair (checked by default) leave it as it is.

next - Capability - check Bitswap Enable and check SRA Enable (not checked by default) - SAVE/APPLY

SRA stabilises your connection by compensating for line noise and other disturbances and adjusts the SNR accordingly instead of the usual procedure of disconnecting and reconnecting again.

go to management from the main links and reboot the router. wait for 2 minutes to reboot and come to summary page. thats all !!

Note - everytime you make a change gont forget SAVE or SAVE/ APPLY wherever the option is available or else it wont save your changes.

Do not change from PPPoE mode to bridge mode. It slows down your pc considerably. One reason could be because in bridge mode your modem firewall is disabled and it just acts as a router forwarding all ports to your pc firewall. This could cause your third party firewall to get aggressive and hyper sensitive, thus effectively slowing down your pc.

my bsnl supplied modem is - UT300R2U - but the options will be available in other models too.

it took quite some time to write this...if it helps you, do drop a line...

Hi newbie7,

I think you can check your settings here:

Tradetiger--->LINKS---->TradeTiger Updation Procedure.

I am using 1.0.4.9 ,today I got a message that TradeTiger has been updated
to version2.

Earlier I used to update TT--->Misc--->check for updates.

It is not working today.

hey even i have tried using trade tiger 2 many times...

ive got a quad core processor... 4 gb ram... 1 gd ddr5 graphics card and 500 gb hard drive witha 512 kbps internet connection...

trade tiger 2 is awful... i cant have it running smoothly even for 5 minutes... its really bad...

im damn sure its not heavy cos im a student of 3d animation and we have softwares of 3-4 gbs and which dont even start up without a graphics card...

so with our configs... we should be able to run any softwares... i believe there is something wrong with the software...

is there anyone who is using trade tiger 2 smoothly..? pls enlighten us...

colombus,

that link is for the old trade tiger tiger.

for the new TT the link is this - http://www.sharekhan.com/tradetigernew/setup.htm

bthakwani,

with your config trade tiger should be running smoothly. In fact your rig more than exceeds the system requirements of TT. (see link above)

i have run it on 512 mb ddr 400 ram and i works fine but is somewhat slow. So i upgraded to 1.5 Gb of DDR 400 ram and wanted to know from other members as to how much ram they are using for it to run with minimum lag.

i think your problem lies elsewhere. multitasking perhaps? you said you use other s/w with heavy cpu/ memory usage.

if nothing works, uninstall TT and delete all keys from the registry. Then install the new version from the link in this post.

Trade tiger 2.0 (new) has a much better interface, but the toolbar on the top is more confusing and needs some getting used to.

do this and see if it solves your problem. The same goes for colombus too. Dont download from any third party website...you could end up with a virus.

I've been having problems with Trade Tiger 2.0 (been using it since January 11 since I had special access to the Beta site):
- Initially, the software was very unstable and buggy. I think they've been working o nthat gradually as it crashes less frequently.
- The chart management has a lot of bugs (won't load correctly, won't save studies correctly, etc.)
- The biggest problem I have is that TT2 runs very hot, literally! I have a processor temperature monitor software and no other application pushed the temperature up to beyond 95C! Laptops with intel i7 usually handle upto 105 and shut down abruptly once this is breached. TT2 has done this on many occasions.

In anticipation of follow up questions, here are the answers:
I'm running a powerful laptop with Intel i7, 8GB RAM, 64-bit version. No other application or trading software that I've ever run (including Tradestation back in the US) has managed to load the processor in such a manner. I've tested the temp. with many, many applications but TT2 is the only one that seems to do this overheating. It is ridiculous because I really need the historic data that 1.0.4.9 doesn't have and I don't want to yet pay much for Metastock or other proprietary softwares.

Anyone else having problems with the 64 bit version?
thanks,
Arth!

Hi newbie_7,

Sorry to address like this ,because you are almost 2 years senior on this forum.

In fact ,I saw your reply on INTERNET,sorry replying you late.

By sticking to old version ,you can get almost 90% ,what new version
offers.Unnecessarily Sharekhan team has made TT a complicated ONE,
with introduction of THEMES ,etc.Stick to old version ,if you are LOW
on your computer memory. My sugessation to TT team is reduce all fancy
things ,because many are here to earn money not to exibit showy things.
