buying and selling shares

Hi,

I use sharekhan to buy and sell shares.

I have a query regarding buying and selling shares in delivery.

For example, when I buy 10 shares of ONGC on 10/11/2010 at rate of 1400

Now again I buy 10 more share of ONGC on 13/11/2010 at rate of 1350.

Now, If I want to share 10 share on say 22/11/2010, which shares will be sold first. Shares which I bought on 10/11/2010 at rate of 1400 or shares which bought on 13/11/2010 at rate of 1350.

Please advise.

if u brought same company scrips ,all are added and shows the average price.
ex; 10 shares of uco bank at 100 rs on 10-10-10 and 10 shares of uco bank at 90 rs on 11-10-10.now the average price is 100+90=190/2=95 rs.from this u can sold .

YOu may make an portfolio in newly lauched HDFC securities ltd site - www.hdfcsec.com as now they hv launched their new website with the various features like maintaing portfilio which will help you to get the realised profit & loss on daily basis market scenario

it's not so whatever u sell now either u baught first one or older one I mean either u sell shares which u baught in 1350 or 1400 nett effect u could see when u clear ur all position if u wants to see ur position for now then only u can ask ur broaker to sell latest one or older one dear
otherwisae at the end ur all position will be among u lol

But what would be the tax implications? E.g. if I bought the fist lot (say 50 shares) more than an year back and second lot (say 20 shares) less than an year, and now I sell partially (say 15). Will I be taxed STCG or not?

The shares which you bought first i.e. in this case 10 ONGC @ 1400 will be sold first.
