An Eye on News

Friends

What are the possible news that make the stocks shoot up?

I would appreciate if you make a list of points that one can keep an eye on and make hay while the sun shines!!!

It may especially help those who do not know/believe/depend on technicals.

Many a times I get confused, if a merger news is good or demerger for a specific company, if scrip will definitely behave such on stock split/bonus/dividend news or not, etc.

Thanks in Advance

An investor views news differently than a trader.
As Savant Garde sir would say first consider the economy wide news, then sector wise then the best company in a sector. This is for fresh investments/positions.
But a long time investor is affected by news of corporate announcements too.

But a long time investor is affected by news of corporate announcements too.
Many a times It does get confusing. Merger news is good or demerger for a specific company, will definitely behave differently whether it is a stock split/bonus/dividend news or not, etc.
Recently I invested in BL Kashyap before the bonus 1:1 cum share split was announced at 466. Now it is ruling at 39.8
A new investor would easily panic. But I was confident of this company's track record and have prior knowledge of behaviour of a stock post bonus cum splits. The rally within a few months to a profitable position.

Too often there are company's some with even a name than are easily unfriendly and even cheat them Better to stay clear of such companies.eg Videocon They demerge ,merge companies .Some have some obscure RTA and do not cooperate eg Binani Industries. Some reduce equity capital etc. Such companies are best avoided. others are notoriously badly managed and even the mgmt give awful excuses for under performance.
Eg IDBI MD saying if the interest rates are freed his margins will improve.
others give abysmal returns eg Videocon for eg RONW for the yr 6% below a FD.
