Is anyone following the NSE adv-dec line? It has fallen off sharply. See attached chart.
I use AD line as a confirmation indicator only. So this just confirms that the recent sell off has some significance ![]() --SwingTrader |

Yes it seems to have gone even below its previous lows. Not a good sign. Also did you notice the bearish divergences?

Thanks to swing trader and the nice useful post.
please let me know if I can get a chart (online) for intraday advance-decline versus nifty or advance-decline for a stock in particular vesrsus nifty. right now this kind of data is available on heatmap of buzzingstocks.com Is there any other source? kindly provide me links. one doubt. you have specifically pointed out a-d line isd just a confirmation indicator only. If I want to base it for intraday trading, which other indicators can I take support from? pivots=sometimes fail.moving averages=dont know which two or three are best? stochastics or MACD? a combination of slow stochastics with moving averageslike 5,20,100 dma may help-nt sure. thanks once again. From what is my knowledge of advance declines, one who deals with nifty only shud lookat nifty a/d's
the others just give a confirmation that there is broader market participation or not. Becareful while u base ur trade on this line. There r more stocks who can be pushed around to derail nifty or accelerate it. Warm regards Amit |
