Since we know there is not one particular reason for the market movements. Everyday we can see some particular reason for market reactions.

So, what you think or believe the most important reason and the market reacts most of the time in the market to behave a up or down?

So, join the poll and vote.

I think there is a flaw in your options.

I voted for FII's because whilst all the others are reasons...they are reasons which cause the removal or addition of money based on people's opinions.

So....they provide a reason for people to invest or not, all in varying quantities.
But based on all those reasons, if you had to have a single mover of the markets, it would be the FII's. They are the ones with the money.

global markets affect the most.
The best answer.:thumb:

Nikkei 225, FTSE 100 and DJII 30 are daddies of world. Salute them.

Nifty is an infant which is growing fast but gets a kick (bearish)/love (bullish) from daddies every day.

Also china has joined global league (like china PMI data released on 1st of every month), so china also moves our market though chinese movement gets reflected in Nikkei 225 in asian session.:clapping:

There may be multiple reasons for it.....and also these reasons may vary for different timeframes...

Like yday, there was a sudden spike in ADAG shares when RIL meeting opened and then after sometime prices were brought to its feet. Later in the day we came to know that ADAG shares were beaten down bcos Anil was not present in the meeting.

On different occasions, we have seen how markets reacted badly to good set of numbers...like when SBI announced record profits, stock slumped a lot

So i wud rather advise u to find out how to take a pie out of that movement....let it move for whatever fu*cking reason, iam happy as long as it gives me some and move :)

btw...u shud include "All of the above" in ur Poll :)

No this is WRONG!!! We are talking about What is the Main cause of Market Movements? We are not talking about INDIAN market movement!!

You have to then address the query What moves the Nikkie, the FTSE,the DJIA...

Buying and selling for whatever reasons. If there are more buyers willing to fork out higher prices, mkt moves up, if more sellers are willing to sell at lower prices it moves down. Reasons are for media to speculate on. The reason changes every half hour. So the reason has no meaning for the trader in us. It is only to amuse the rationalist in us which thinks once the reason is given, all is well.
