Savant Sir - Please Advice on Reliance Power

#2
After reading your request, i decided to post a small lecture on this equities forum.
I hope you realize you are trying to invest 16-20 lakh rupees (at current market rates) if you are buying 10,000 stocks?
Whilst i respect Savant sir and his almost prescient advice (his track record is amazing), i would recommend you read what i wrote Putting all your eggs in one basket

Because by that theory, you need to have a portfolio of almost 4 crores before you should think of investing that much in a single stock.

Hi Ajsd,

Why 10000 Shares Of One Company....????

Going Forward...Looking At Our Country's Power Needs...Sector Has Bright Prospects...

Things To Keep In Mind...UMPP Contracts Are Being Limited To Companies

My Suggestion Would Be To Think In Terms Of Approximately 2500-3000 Shares Divided Between 4-5 Power Companies Between PSU & Private....This Way You Will Have Hedged Many Risks Associated With Individual Companies....

About 1000-1500 Shares Among Those Companies Who Become Direct Beneficiaries....For Execution Of Such Big Contracts Viz.BHEL, L&T, SIEMENS & There Are Some Others...

500-1000 Shares...Among NTPC, GAIL, RECLTD & POWERGRID

Next I Would Like To Look At Those Companies Involved With Infrastructure Lending....Viz. PFC & IDFC

Another One That Comes To Mind Is PTC....Which Is Basically A Power Trading PSU.... & Will Have Excellent Prospects...

Timing Your Entry Is Important......Having Said That I Would Not Put More Than 30-40% Immediately.....

Happy & Safer Investing
