EX date for bonus shares

#1
Can anyone tell how to determine from the info. of Record date the EX-date (i.e. the date till which bonus shares can be got). Say, I bought renuka on 16th, but I am hearing that no bonus shares as its EX-Date was 14th. For a newcomr like me, there is only one wa, see the record date, which was 17th.

Hi Ajit,

Instead of being confused by board date and ex-date, a simple way to calculate is to see at what price you have purchased.

If you have brought at anywhere around 151, then you are eligible for bonus. If you bought it neat 75, then you are not eligible.

Consequently, the paid-up equity share capital of the Company has increased to Rs. 66,98,00,000/- consisting of 66,98,00,000 equity shares of Re. 1/- each.

but still it solves no issue as 14th is specified in some other posts as the last date to get bonus shares, rather than 17th, or even 16th:annoyed:.

I am a newbie, and am slightly (may be totally) confused over the answer given by other in this post : "regarding the decrease in rate of renuka to be a measure of the ex-date still being reached or not".
My doubt is: who decreases the price of the scrip, is it exchange, or big players like mutual funds, or may be some called an operator(I read this term somewhere)

when a company declares and issues 1 bonus share for every 1 share, the share capital of the company increases by 100%. so future profits have to be shared by 200 people, (if it was 100 earlier). Hence, after 1:1 bonus, automatically rates are bound to fall down relatively / proportionately.

Please refer always BSE site for corporate actions and buy your choice of scrips 1 trading day before ex-date mentioned. You will be eligible then for splits/bonus/div/rights etc.
