NSE Short delivery

#1
Hi All

I am a newcomer into trading and have started trading recently. Just need some information from the seniors here. I bought 300 shares of dena bank a couple of days back. But, the next day i got this message from the stock broker sharekhan -

" We write to you in connection with your delivery entitlements for Settlement Number NSENR2009190 .

We would like to inform you that the 28 shares of Dena Bank have been received short at our end from the Exchange. We are expecting deliveries or close out in respect of your entitlement in the next 1 or 2 days time after the Auction. We would be crediting the same on receipt from the Exchange after Auction Pay-Out.

You can view the same in your cash/DP account in a couple of days time. "

Please help me explaining what exactly happened here. I know that i can call them up and ask them to clarify, but wanted to know more about this myself before talking o them so that i do not sound ignorant to them. I want to make sure they are telling me the right things rather than take me for a ride.
