Are you sure that you are looking at the data on the same exchanges?
As in, for the same scrip, the open, high, low, close, ltp, volume, turnover, etc. may be slightly different on BSE and NSE.

May be yahoo is providing BSE data and you are comparing it with NSE data, or vice-versa.

If you plan to use data for analysis, use data from NSE only.

Hi Ankit,

There is a difference between "Close Price" and "Last Price". Last price is the Last traded price at the last moment of trading. Where as the Close price is the adjusted price of the scrip. i.e. average traded price during the last 15 minute or so. Suppose a scrip is trading in the range of 2140 to 2150 during the last 15 minutes or so, then the average is taken for declaring the close price.

When you check the prices on TV during the market hours, you will be getting the last prices. After the markets, you get closing prices.

From the data providers, you will get not only the closing price, but also the last price.

^ Well, making decisions is not that straight forward. You cannot just pull out a chart and expect to make profitable trades. You will have learn some technical analysis, etc.

If you are really keen on learning technical analysis, I suggest "How to make money trading with charts" by Ashwani Gujral.
