TCS drop in share price :0

#1
HI All,

I am sure many of you must have noticed the drop in share prices of TCS. Can someone tell me how can a share drop mor ethen 50% overnite? I mean how do the exchanges allow such a thing to happen??? Shouldnt the script be delisted if a sharp up/ down trend in price is noticed overnight???

Also, I had a stop loss at 745 ( the market price then was 777 ish) how did my share not sell out when the price was falling??

Did ne one else have this bad experience? or was I wrong somewhere in my trading???

Regards,
Rishi

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I rem watching yest the price was abt 780. while it is 388ish today. does 1:1 bonus mean my quantity of shares is going to double?? If yes my ICICIdirect certainly doesnt show it. DO I have to fine tune it manually? cause rite now considering the price at which i bot the shares, its showing a big loss :( and has caused lots of nervous moments for me over last night :(

In my view, ICICI's systems is crap in handling corporate action.

I don't know if there is another way to handle it in ICICIDirect account...but certainly there is workaround as given below.

The balance in your Dmat account should have doubled but ICICI portfolio tracking tab etc may not show the new quantity.
You have to manually add transaction of buying equal number of qty at 0 price.. and then update portfolio.

Happy Trading
