EDUCOMP short sell at 2350 and now feeling extremely scared

#1
I did short sell 1 lot of Educomp at 2350 on Thrusday and now with election results feeling extremely scared.

Definitely a big gap up expected on Monday and with extremely large volatility stock like EDUCOMP, it might open gap up arnd 250 points. Feeling scared.

Technically, as per charts I believe me shorting EDUCOMP at 2350 was perfectly ok for a short swing trade but now have a lesson learnt that sentiments also play an equally important role along with technicals.

What do you all think on this, how much loss expected for me on Monday. Also, please advice on how to exit now?
A market Buy order before market opens ? or
wait for market to open gap up and then buy seeing the price. problem with Educomp is that it very quickly goes up/down in first 5 -10 mins.

this is what i do in such situations. take first 5 min graph, set stoploss at high+some filter. if it keeps falling after gap up, then keep moving yr stoploss.

i know eucomp moves very fast in both directions. sometimes it moves in opposite irectio to nifty

Hi L2T,
We discussed many times that stocks like EDUCOMP is not strictly for
faint hearted people and retail investor ,because ,the stock is highly
VOLATILE in nature.More over going up or down by few hundred
rupees in a day make me to believe if some operator activity is associated
with it.Let us hope all ends well for you.

Dear friend, need not to be scared. In positional trades such type of situations seldom occurred.

Do u remember my trade with two lots of nifty puts at the thread trading diary? There was a huge gap up opening......My decision was wrong and the very moment of opening the market I exited those positions and went long on some scrips......

Try to control ur emotions if u wanna successful trader. Successful trading is nothing but controlling ur emotions.

Dont go for postmortem now. Also avoid prejudice. Have a good sleep at night.

Dont go for prejudice, keep a sl of 2500 if price opens above that range cover it.

In derivatives pre market orders are not permitted. After market opening u have to take decisions. I do agree with bandlabs regarding exiting the trade.

Thanks Bandlab. Surely looks a better way of exiting.

L2T,

I Checked The Charts EDUCOMP Is Not Looking Good For Your Short Trade....
But If Your Capital Permitting......Buy 3 Lots Where 1 Lot Will Get Squared Off Against Your Short & From The Balance 2 Lots You Shall Be Long....Of Which You Can Square Off 1 Lot On Tuesday & Hold The 2nd Lot Till Expiry.

Happy & Safer Trading
