Why will the money be doubled? :D
Mittals networth will be doubled too he will become richest man in India..

Usually when they say stock split then split the stock so 1 becomes 2 stocks.

hey will the money be doubled or price of the stock price will be divided by 2:)
Money will not double. Theoratically, on the day after the split, the share price will be divided by split ratio i.e. in this case, the market price will be half on very next day. So no difference to anybody's networth.

In practice, the price may not be exactly half, it can be little bit more or less.. but that is how mkt works. It doesn't follow theory.

Only place where stock split helps is in improving the liquidity and trading volume.

Happy Trading.

On The Day When It Goes Ex-Split & Ex-Dividend, Theoretical Opening Price Shall Be Half (1:1 Split) Of Previous Days Closing Minus Dividend Amount Per Share, If Ex-Dividend Date Happens To Be Same.

Happy & Safer Trading

Split Is Automatic & Immediate On The Day It Goes Ex-Split As Opposed To Bonus Shares Which Takes Time Because The Issuing Company Has To Release It.

SEBI Is Working On Time Frame To Reduce The Time It Takes A Company To Issue The Bonus Shares.
