Doubt by a novice regarding stock.

Hey all.

i'm new to trading and has been wandering around this form to fetch as much knowledge as possible.I have never done trading before.

I have heard member's talking about "selling" a stock @ this price etc etc...can one Sell a stock first before he buy's it??

yes u can sell a stock but u must purchase the same qty before closings of market on the same day. this is margin trading. if u r unable to close position u have to pay penalties to exchange

ya that is known as short selling
if u have an idea that market is bout to fall
and u expect the stock to go down from the current price then u can short sell it
like say u sold 100 RIL @ 1807 at morning 11:30
then u have to cover them by the end of the day

CAUTION : DONT SHORT SELL STOCKS BELONGING TO "T" GROUP
COZ WHEN U BUY THEM U GET THE DELIVERY NEXT DAY
SO U CANT PLAY INTRADAY IN IT
SO BEWARE OF T GROUP STOCKS

T Stocks = Trade 2 tradestocks.
All trades must end with delivery. You caanot Short Sell i.e u cannot sell if you do not have them in your DP.
If you buy a T stock and the rates go up intraday, you cannot sell it and book profit. You must take delivery and then Sell it.

I have Opened my demat account and trading account with Indiabulls..i'm planning to do Intraday..suppose the prices of the stocks i bought falls during Intraday and i want to hold it to the next day as well..In that scenario we should take delivery of stock..right?

if u planning to do intraday pls learn some strategy/method and trade with stop loss....if u r taking intraday as a profession be professional and learn method...always trade with stoploss....if u want to invest in stock for growth or dividend then yeah right hold the stock .....it will be delivery
