Similar thing of short selling in Futures is not there in Equities.Short selling
in equities is there for ONLY ONE DAY.

You can short sell in STOCK FUTURES.Trading in Futures without knowing completely
about futures is highly DANGEROUS.For new retail investor
it is a big NO.

Thank you Columbus ji.
Actually i'm abit scared of futures market as i'm too young in stock market with less than 1.5 year of experience in it.
But in your reply you have used the phrase "Short selling in equities is there for ONLY ONE DAY".Kindly eloborate the same.
waiting for ur reply

You can short sell shares but have to cover (buy back) before 3:10pm else your broker will buy at any price after 3:15pm. You can't have shorts open for shares for more than one trading session (one day); if you leave the shorts open (like with odin software) you'll be fined 15% at the current market price of the shares on auction day.

this shorting of shares is available through "margin/intraday" account (instead of delivery), in your trading platform. so, choose scrip, qty to short, select sell, and choose "margin" account to do the shorting.

You have mistakenly written 3:10 pm.Its 3.30 pm.

Most of the F & O stocks should be available for short selling.

KINDLY TAKE CARE OF YOUR ANSWERS YOU ALL --
WHAT THE QUESTION IS??????
WHAT YOU ARE ANSWERING NONSENSE.....

intraday and delivery are different strategies dude. In intraday you have to square up/off ( if u sold then u have to buy && if u bought u have to sell... if u dont your broker will do it without your permission!!!!).

In your case you are buying in CNC(cash and carry/ delivery)....
So no need to square off. and you can sell it whenever you want but settlement(your a/c will be deposited with sold shares money) would be on T+3 days.
thanks
