What is your time frame?
How did you take the decision to buy?

Any way, need no confusions :)

I am in the same boat in which you are..
I too have been losing money.
I am waiting till the coming of the stimulus expected to be announced soon.
It will ease out the market, even if for a single day. Then I shall sell. Even if losses are booked, they will be much less than the loss which can ensue if shares are sold now.
Besides, the downswing could have also taken place due to the expiry of the December futures. Many were booking profits.
In my view the markets should go up even if only by a small amount.

If the markets do not correct after the stimulus package is announced, I'll wait for a month till Obama unveils his rescue package between Jan 20 and 22.
I can wait but not book heavy losses. What goes down has to come up some day..:)

cheerio!

Hismajesty, you are depending on too many external factors.news to take decision.
Market is leading indicator of such news so only novice traders take action based on such news.. whereas professionals take other side of the trade.
Just try to find an answer why mkt was falling since Oct-07 when all central bank heads were saying that we are not going to see recession ? Why stock sells off on annoucing good quarterly earnings ? Do you think market players are not smart enough to see what action Obama is going to take after he takes over office ?
Dear, market has its own logic so as a smart player we need to understand that and follow them to survive here.. not what CNBC or newspapers are reporting.

Happy Trading

In my view, there are only two types of stutus on any stock either Buy or Sell.
Hold status is only for people who are confused or can't take decision or they want to confuse people

Our past mistakes, emotional attachment to stock, should not be influencing our next decision. So better to detach yourself from past and make a decision in Present.

Will I buy the stock today for my timeframe ? if my answer is Yes, then I will hold the position that already have or I will buy more. If my answer is No, then I will look for right opportunity in shorter timeframe to get out.

Happy Trading.
