I don't think market is bottomed out yet. I can't say at what level nifty will drop. When people started talking about possible recession in US, market dropped like dead stone. Just imagine what will happen when USA will really go into recession? Indian market cannot be decoupled from international market for long.

i fear another downside this month approx by feb 20 or so on, my strategy is to sell most of my shares when the rel power gets listed, then it is a matter of time for the markets to see the crash. Again I may be wrong and i hope i am. But the US downfall is too big to be stopped by asian markets.

I don't think the market are bottom but i can say they are at pivot level from where it can swing both ways in same magnitude. My views are not based on any technicals but more on market centiments which will be affected and their are still events and news to affect the market.

1. We are in a Global world and their is no way to treat or assume asian market would not affect any global news or slowdown.

2. Change in Government and Budget will keep the market volatile.

3. After 3 years of rally their is no way you can find bottom or stable in such a quick time.

My view is 3-6 months expect market volitile and buying opportunities wil come.
I wil not be surprised to see bottoms below 16K and worst case 14K
After that a fresh rally would take us 21-25 K in 2009 and 30 K in 2010 if things work out fine.

lets see and watch.

Any bottoming when happens we will come to know only after it has happened (how early we know is imp before the general mass knows) prior to that is guesstimate only.

Looks like we'll be stuck in some kind of triangular pattern for some time.

It is a binary decision - whether the market will rise or fall !!! Till now no probabilistic models could be fitted to find the solution .. There are so many theories, so many models - but none perfectly match to predict. If it be so, every investor would be a crorepati. Trillions of factors are there behind a market ups or downs. Some are tangential - some intangential. Morever, there are plenty of foul plays behind...how can one predict ? It is merely a wild guess game... some win some loose. Just like a sofisticated type of gambling - nothing else.
