Nifty Futures Trading

Folks, I was looking at EOD charts doing my weekend homework and noticed something. Please see the attached charts of NIFTY spot and futures for reference.

- Volume on the rallies in NF has been low compared to the falls. Those up-rallies on low v have been followed with significant downwards move, since back in November. Even in the recent one in second half of April08, volume was significantly down compared to preceding fall and local bottom.

- Premium on the NF (black graph in lower part of Nifty spot.png) compared to spot has been falling even during last three days of upward move. The premium peaked a day before the peak on Nifty on May 2 and has now moved to a 5 point discount. This of course could be due to nearing expiration.

Is there a cause for concern about continuation of up-move? Appreciate any comments from seniors.

Lack of volumes is certainly a GREAT cause of concern and continuation of up-move is now doubtful in absence of volumes.

On doing a deep analysis for one year I have found that booking profits at some level for part qty. is the onlyway to make the indicator give positive results consistingly.
Where as I was loosing in a few months on trading signal to signal, never loosing on quarterly basis, but with partial profit booking the overall profits are down by almost 30% but the ease of trade has enhanced.
