Please see my earlier post I was hoping I will get wrong about this. one cannot make money believing in predictions and hoping to get rich with high leverage has about the same chance as buying a lottery ticket.

Professionals sit and enjoy when the average retail traders suffer, when thats what this game is about, the only way to consistently win is to limit your losses to around 75% of your original account value (for the highly risk tolerant out here). Remeber , if you have a 50% loss, you need 100% to recover and you are more or less out of the game.

What a day!! this is perhaps one of the five great crashes of this century for the world markets. It might get much worse for US and China who are in a deep mess with bad credit.

May be Indian banks are more immune than US and China ( India has much less trade with US than China ) , however the IT service sector will get hit.
Even if the markets produces positive returns for this year, it is hard to see a great year in the markets. Probably when everybody feels the same way, it is a good contrarian indicator
I am out of equities for a while till there is a solid reversal, hard to get a positive angle on the economic story anyway I look at it.

Yes that is alway true , but Indian banks as such do not have much US subprime mortage exposure. But its quite possible that the ripple effects of a recession may affect Indian Banks as well.
I hope I am wrong about this!!
