The Hindi news space is slated to get a new addition with the
proposed launch of a 24x7 Hindi news channel, KBC News, by Chandigarh-
based production house Kohinoor Broadcasting Corporation (KBC). The
channel is expected to go on air by May-June, 2008. Vickram Bahl,
Editor-in-Chief of Delhi-based production house ITMN, has been roped
in as consultant for the new channel.

KBC, a public listed company, is promoted by its Managing Director
Harjinder Singh. As consultant, Bahl would be responsible for setting
up KBC News. He would also be Chairperson of the advisory board of
the Hindi news channel.

"In addition to the Hindi news channel, KBC also has plans to come up
with an entertainment channel, KBC Plus, after around two months of
the launch of the news channel. Thereafter, the company would come up
with KBC Profit, a business channel, and KBC Gold, which would
showcase regional movies from all states," informed Singh.

KBC's plans extend beyond India, with the company planning to set up
play stations in the UK as well as cover the US, Canada, the Middle
East, and South East Asian countries, including Japan and Singapore,
with its broadcasting network. The company also has a production
house in the Middle East.

"All these developments are expected to be completed by the end of
2008. KBC was started around eight years ago as a production house.
We used to cater to the content requirements of regional channels,"
Singh said.

Meanwhile, commenting on the Hindi news channel, Bahl said, "The
channel would provide news and current affairs in an analytical way
and simplify them for the audience. We believe in providing in-depth
analysis of the important and burning issues."

The company is in the process of recruiting top level executives.
Bahl added that a state-of-the-art facility was ready at Rajpura near
Chandigarh. The channel would have bureaus in all the metros.

Bahl, a media veteran, has hosted shows on various television
channels. His recent TV series include `Insight with Vickram Bahl'
and `Opportunities Overseas', both telecast on Doordarshan.

This is the best new development out of all the current developments happening right now in this counter. Now that the channel release date is coming nearer and with the involvement of Vickram Bahl and his IMTN team, Kohinoor will race past the previous high.

If you are still not sure then look at the scrip movements for the last 2 weeks....hitting UC even when the markets are going down....and it's ending everyday with huge pending orders....
Can't you smell that something is cooking in this counter.....this is just a beginning and this scrip will soon cross it's previous high before the channel lauch......once the channel is launched then it will trade around 50-60, if the channel gets good response then sky is the limit.....

Anyway, I have very good news on Kohinoor Broadcasting Corporation Ltd and I think Kishore (of Scotland) will be very happy to know this as he also like me holds good amount of shares of the company.
I shared in one of my earlier posts that Mr.Vickram Bahl and his ITMN team have been roped in as consultants for KBCLs "KBC News" and today this has been confirmed from an indepent source who happens to be a good media analyst. Vickram Behl enjoy a good clout in the TV Space and the confirmation of this news is just splendid. According to the said source actually Mr.Vickram Behl is helping Kohinoor Broadcasting in the recruitment process for its upcoming channel Hindi News Channel.
Hence I think there is no looking back for Kohinoor Broadcasting as it is expected to hit some more buyer freezes going forward. The said analyst is of the view that Kohinoor will this time surpass its previous high and move up. I have already revised my earlier short term target to Rs.32-Rs.45 in the next 9 months time frame, though my medium/long term target of Rs.60--Rs.70 is still intact on the scrip.
I have also revised my target on Southern Online Bio Technologies Ltd from earlier Rs.50--Rs.60 to Rs.120--Rs.150 for 12 months time frame. Similarly in case of H S India Ltd, the revised target for the 12 months is Rs.70--Rs.80 from Rs.45--Rs.60. I am coming up with Fresh reports on H S India Ltd and Relaxo Footwear soon.
