It purly vary based on your risk taking capability. I exit once my inv cross 10% as I am basically a FD investor :), where i get the same money in 1 Year. Now I get those in 1 month

Profit booking is the worst part of trading and over the years i have experienced that whenever i have got out of market with a profit , it has proved to be a loss booking because market invariably keeps on going up.

It is easy to find entry points but difficult part is to find a proper exit. Sometimes booking even 200% profit seems like i have booked a loss as stock goes on making 400%

Earlier i was quite happy to find a method called trailing stoploss but experience has shown that we almost sell our holdings at worst prices with trailing stop loss and markets makes us look foolish by taking our stoplosses and starting its upward run again.

This is a good thread, it would be good if everybody discussed how they exi their trades

I agree with u prabhjeetrana that trailing stoploss may not give u the full benefit however we have seen only one side of the market that is continous upwards (primary uptrend).

We need to think about the long run, I am sure we will get benefited with the trailing SL and bridge methods. SL saved me a lot

How do you calculate trailing stop loss is it a pivot low or just percentage retracement that you follow
