 street buzz is that a high level govt meeting may take place soon 2 consider REMOVING SLEW OF TAX INCENTIVES PROVIDED TO S E Z PROJECTS.....as the govt is concerned with the revenue loss from the sops......

Bush sent Congress a $3.1 trillion federal budget for next year that trims Medicare and health care programs, boosts military spending WILL SWELL this year's deficit hit a near-record $410 billion, reflecting the weakened U.S. economy..........................

Why is it that the FinMin and SEBI are behind the Investors neck???
They are throwing in all possible news to paint the Sensex Red... FII ShortSelling, Public Holding of Minimum 25%, Cap on IPO Premiums, P-Notes, and now this SEZ issue... Dont they know most infra companies, the most important pillars for India's growth this year are highly dependent on these SEZs?? Even this will affect IT/ITeS for lack of infra at a controlled cost. Meeting is due, but I dont believe this is going to happen adversely... |

A meeting of the empowered group of ministers on SEZs, which was scheduled today, has been postponed. The EGoM, which is chaired by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, was to discuss proposals relating to relaxing the 5,000 hectare cap on area of SEZs as well as doing away with tax benefits enjoyed by the zones.The Board of Approval on SEZs have so far formally approved 404 zones out of which 193 have been notified.. So this is a mixed news, odds of good vs bad are equal for this meeting (even deferred)... So Mr. Sudoku, please dont spread bearish sentiments to support your 18925 sensex theories.
