sugar stocks shot through the roof 2day.....why..?
major sugar producing state maharashtra where sugar production is going on in full swing.....non listed cos under the govt organizations r likely 2 revise etimates for 2008 sugar availabilty on the basis of available sugarcane for crushing to around 250 LAC TONNES versus earlier estimates of around 300 LAC TONNES...........
watch out for this announcment in the coming days says the insider........

It's been a long pending land deal but now the govt. seems to be moving on it. SIX YEARS after selling its stake in VSNL to the Tatas, the Finance ministry has circulated a cabinet note to transfer over 773 acres of land, which had been declared surplus, to a new company—Heritage Properties India.

The Heritage Properties LAND will be developed into a commercial or a residential property.

Valued at Rs12,000cr plus=Rs 425/share of VSNL !!!

773 acres spread across four cities in five locations. ..........

VSNL’s properties are:

1>VSNL Tower in Mumbai’s Fort area,

2>Prabhadevi administrative HQ in Mumbai,................

3>VSNL Bhavan at Kolkata---

4>The most expensive of these excluded properties is a 500-acre plot near greater Kailash in South Delhi .......................
