You are correct in your terms - don't look for absolutes.

Thats the very important point in looking for divergence in RSI. Either the previous divergence top or bottom has to be taken out, for any results to be derived on RSI.

Satya, Swagat, Jaykiru: Now tell me, how you will describe the move when the momentum(RSI) starts picking up and breaks the previous top? How then you stand to your previous comments reg. divergence has happened?

Currently I'm in office. Will try to post some charts tonight, with illustrations.

Cheers,
Praveen.

The charts attached are self explanatory.I am not going to explain what it means.

Care to note i havent included todays action.Simply because day hasnt finished.

Just one hint how do u put todays action in perspective of the 2 charts just on momentum or rsi or roc or whatever.

Yes..thats the meaning of divergence in its simplest form. But I guess this thread and the original question for the current discussion was any significant change in trend.

At any point of time, price and indicator(RSI) may be in the same direction or opp. But I think failure swing is important in this case, that too if it was preceded by a good momentum move. There can be many swings in between the last divergences top and bottom, but it has to be taken out for any valid conclusion.

Let me know, if I'm wrong anywhere.

ur ryt then in that case the divergence doesnt not exist any more. Markets keep changing and things keep evolving. have to keep that in mind. And with RSI wat i feel is we need to watch the trend over all, not the absolutes. Its one of the mistakes i use to make earlier.

Then the whole thing again becomes Relative(in literal and as well as truer) doesnt it.Relative to previous top,or previous bottom.

Then it becomes purely subjective.

Just like the way to look at the proverbial glass.Half empty or half full.
This is my last post here in this matter.

Cheers.
