Inflation measured in terms of WPI is not a good indicator..........Consumer price index (CPI) or Retail price Index (RPI) provides a measure of inflation and is a price index that tracks the prices of a specified basket of consumer goods and services purchased for consumption by households. The CPI is considered as a measure of cost-of-living index.
Among CPI it is the Consumer Price for Urban non-manual employees (CPI-UNME) that best reflects the impact of inflation and this index has been rising for the last several years.
Infact in most developed countries it is the CPI thats taken as an indicator and not WPI .
