As trader my only concern is Direction,to get that direction right, whether mkt is at 1k or 10000000k i will trade to make money.
Asishda thats where the problem is, those who do no day trade or futures trade are helpless now a days, we have to keep seeing the markets going down everyday with none of the indicators giving buy signal. It would be great if exchanges allowed holding short positions in cash markets even if requires 100% margin, that would really take the froth out of system.

BTW,congratulations on your 4000 posts, i think you hold the no. 1 position in no. of posts, GREAT

Asuming that we enter the corrective period for even 6-8 months i suppose not only 11999 but levels close to 10000 may not be too far

Staying in cash (and earning interest, of even 2% p.a) is just a good a strategy when other alternatives are disastrous.

No. 7500 should not be possible.

What you will see is, after every fall, volumes will keep on falling. Even shorters will be unable to find good numbers to short on day trade.

People will stop investing in markets even if it touches 10000 for sure!

After that 50-100 point move a day would be difficult. By then some growth story has to come from the globe

And trust me, the government will be kicked out by this time for being so stupid...

I think the worst thing during this correction unlike 2004 or MAY 2006 correction is that people to whom i talk whether investors or traders personally are still not feeling very negative about market, its only CNBC TV18 reporters who are trying to convince people that sentiment is bad. When after May 2006 i used to tell my friends to buy stocks they thought that i am a Gambler and would loose all my money but those people are buying freely right now, though thats not a confirmation signal but it gives me a feeling that bottom will be formed only after we have same kind of sentiment as 2004 & 2006

On second thought allowing short positions may act like a Double edges swords and may cut small investors both the sides

the sensex is currently having an EPS of around rs 800....now for it 2 go 2 7500 levels , the sensex has 2 trade @ PE of less than 10....
since 1990 , the sensex has NEVER commanded a PE of this kind, putting it in the penny stock bag.....
