As per my observation NIFTY may fall on 13-03-07. Look at HPCL, short position have been created by punters.

then y to short Nifty short HP. HP just has a 0.45 weightage on Nifty 50. So if there is a short poition of punters(As u say) there is no surety that Nifty is gonna fall. pls giv a valid reason for ur viepoint.

I appreciate your observation. But question remains unanswered. Why shud Nifty go down with HPCL when it has less than 05% weightage?

just see dinkerj, hpcl sustain above 250 & nifty closed with gains. there was a chain reaction beetween hpcl & nifty on yesterdays data.

Nothing related to any stock. Today US stock market fall...due to negative data. if today US stock do not recover and tommorow if Nikki fall before then NSE will open GAP down. now all depend upon Nikki. and Yen carry trades.
