Another CRR Hike
Hi all,
There is news that RBI has increased CRR by another .50. I am wondering what will be the effect tomarrow. Kindly post ur views Thanks Rajeev

RBI had earlier announced that the CRR hike will be in two phases, Jan 17 and March 3. ICICI BANK, HDFC BANK are currently down by 7% in the US markets at this hour. With nifty being a bank heavy index it should tank too. Nifty is close to strong supports and if we happen to break these supports and close below them there will be chaos! I am only wondering about how much the market has already factored in this rate hikes.

Dont forget that ICICI and others hav already increased the rates. PSU banks cant afford to hold back the interest rates for much long.
