one's own limitations, say for an example i know very well that i am yet not prepeared Mentally to put a 10 Lot trade on Century Text Fut,where it can dance Rs 2 -3 in 1 min, hence knowing Self is more imp.
Many a time it happened with me that after loosing 80k ,in a short period,i was mentally shattered,be assured it happens with All.
Try putting a trade qty as per your Mental & Financial Limit,NEVER go for Exposure Now at this stage,NO INTRADAY ,you will just be 1 more tomb in the Graveyard.
Learn the basics from Saint's Thread, put very small qty,Preservation is Only moto now.
Trust me all your 80k will be returned in few more multiples if you survive & learn.Dont quit this arena. That is Gutsy ,to be a cliffhanger & plz channelise all your sensory organs for Knowledge. There is nor was any Secret formula for success ,many Sleepless night & lots of Self Humilation with a Lone objective & passion will truly bring you out from the Hole.
All the known Gr8 traders have all passed through this phase.
Well come to the Loner's world.
I firmly believe you will come out of this,my best wishes from the core of my Heart brother,i even boarded the wrong Bus to come back home after Huge Loss in Dabba Trading, walked aimlessly.Still success is illusive but managing somewhat decently, you are younger than me you will definetly take lesser time.

Like other day's to-day also "Short Seller's" are trapped still now.
There was ample of evidence that Nifty may shoot up was being provided by ONGC Fut,for significant time in 1 min chart it was bouncing from 970.35 & when it broke it's earlier High @ 977.50 see how it took Nifty Fut along with it.

Hi Ashish, Renuji and Senior members,

I follow ur thread constantly and try to learn as much as i can. Well till now, I haven't booked many looses nor have made big profits but the learning was really which can't be compared with all these.
Till now i was watching n reading all senior members post and tried to analyze with what logic they are giving calls but yea we need experienced eye for that and yes i will have that one day. Well coming to my portfolio..which are a mix of my past mistakes and on my logic which i stand by even today when all are saying aginst it. If you can give me some suggesation on these, it will really be helpful for me to learn more.

My portfolio
-----------
Equity- Sector 51.83 %
-----------------------------------------------
Construction 6.60 % [ Parsavnath @ 450, CMP : 355 ]
Information Technology 38.45 % [ Infosys @ 2200 , CMP :1891 ]
Metals 4.02 % [ Usha Martin @64.4, CMP:69.25 ]
Pharmaceuticals 4.47 % [ DrReddy @ 820, CMP :658 ]
Sugar 40.96 % [ Bajaj hind@ 183, CMP :175 ]
Textile 5.50 % [Arvind mill@ 58.9 , CMP:63.10 ]
------------------------------------------------
Mutual Funds- Category 48.17 %
------------------------------------------------
Equity Others 100.00 %
--------------------------------------------------
Postal Savings 0.00 %

Now My Query are as follows:

1) Bajaj Hind was my fundamental pick and I am planning to hold it for long term so short term price movement is not a problem and I plan to accumulate more at the dips. Is this a right thing? or am i too biased to Sugar industry? as you can see, a good amount my total amount is invested in this sector.

2) Infosys I bought in Jan. 2007 when the target i had for it was 2600-2800 by October end. which is clearly not possible in the current scenario. I am reducing my exposure to it constantly at every up move. well I am not very much convinced yet with the fact that IT sector will underperform. So I am still planning to have good exposure to this area. Any views?

3) Arvind Mill Which i bought for short term recently. my target is 20%. looks acheivable? putting stop loss at 57 ??????

4) Usha Martin again a technical buy, trying for 25% return in short term.. moving my stop loss accordingly as it goes up.

5)Dr reddy : well i think a big mistake ..bought at a very bad level. trying to get out once the upmove dilutes.

These are my current holding and what i think about them. Please enlighten me with ur experiences...requesting to all seniors.

About me: aged 24 years, started trading/ investing for last 1 year as soon as passed out from college and earning my bucks.

Thanks
Nitin

nitinku5021a,

Your this statement ........ "About me: aged 24 years, started trading/ investing for last 1 year as soon as passed out from college and earning my bucks."
Very happy to know that ,liked your approach to investment.
Plz excuse me for analyzing your Holdings,i am not so competent ,many in this forum will be able to guide you.
Best of Luck ,feel very proud to observe Young Turks like you taking there Investments decision ,on their Own than depending on other's Calls.
