I was in chandigarh for 5 yrs in 11 sector (close to PGI)....Chandigarh is my favourite city in India............I still remember boating in Sukhna lake.....Carnival in sector 17.......Tandoor chicken of Tehal singh.....Rose festival etc etc.

I am thinking of settling in Chandigarh and am looking into the feasibility of doing my commodities trading from there. I do USA commodities. For day trading the commodities you really need fast response time and for that you need fast internet. I was wondering if internet via dish satellite or other very fast internet is available in chandigarh? The fastest I have seen there is 512k.

I think 512kbps is not bad .

At that speed cannot load the Java based charts and programs. I see that cable intenet is available in Mumbai. Is it readily avaialble in Cahndigarh? Which company?

If I'm guessing correctly, then you must have been studying in Chandigarh during your 5 year stay (guessing it from your place of stay (Sec -11)). And it should be either PEC or GCM-11. Ruling out Medical stream PGI) as right now you are working as a banker.
