What is the programming language used for data downloader ?

Dear Friends,
I have seen few free softwares for downloading EOD(Bhave copy) and convert data for charting software like Metastock. Ex: Getbhavcopy etc
Can anybody tell me , on which programming language these softwares are being created ?. or which is the best programming language for creating these type of software ?. can anybody help me ?.

You can use any language which has functions to connect to the net to get the bhavcopy. If you want a pretty GUI then you can use VB.NET.
