Hi Efex,
Firstly,as you mationed, you had already tried a few programs, you must have searched for them in the net and tried. I feel you must have covered almost all available. Then I don't think anybody can be of any help here. Secondly, I don't understand why you require a free data? As you are going to take up the investment or trading in them, I suggest, pl. take it as a businesss and start investing in the paraphernalia which also includes the data. Even you want to test them before investing, like in R&D how people invest, rather spend, you have to be ready to spend something. All the very best AJAY |

I completely agree with AJAY , that trading in shares be taken as as business venture. U need capital, hardware, software, knowledge and experience. further u need trading plan, money management and so on.
Anyways go to www.amibroker.com and download their s/w. The s/w comes with auto updater which fetches data from ***** for many Stockexchanges including USA. This way you can get the data from ***** free. |

Hi,
AJAY, thanks for your reply. I respect and agree your opinion about stock trading being a business and therefore should have some investment done on the tools. Certainly when I decide to go live trading I will have to pay a broker, a REAL TIME data service (I won't for sure trust this EOD data from ***** for live trading), etc. Right now I am paper trading and as you know there are a lot of sites offering FREE delayed data and historical data (like money and *****). There is even a site where u can download at the end of the day the .txt files with the EOD data. So, what I am asking is not anything unusual or ilegall. I just wanted to know if anybody knows about a FREE SW that downloads the EOD (delayed) data form the free sites offering. I am sure you know from this forum there are some of these free programms. (downloader for *****, etc). Anyways, I am looking some SW like the HQuotes that allows downloaing EOD data to metastock, txt, csv, etc etc Thanks Tanewbie and jdm for your suggestions. About Amibroker, does this expires and therefore doesn't work anymore with free data from *****? an I export to other formats? Thanks again |

i think you just want something free that can use the eod data. Isn't?
afterall obtaining the eod data without the sw to use it isnt useful at all i have no free software to use those data to suggest i dont think u will get a good one for free |

Hi,
YHOO Finance provides Split adjust EOD data for all American stocks. So does Google Finance. There is a free utility available on the Internet that lets you download this information as CSV files - which you can then import into Metastock, Amibroker or any other applications.
