Backtesting

#1
Over the past few months I have downloaded several EOD databases from this forum and other places like the BSE NSE 2005 yahoo group / Bhav Copy Database etc

Now these being free databases they are not perfect. Some corporate actions have been adjusted some not. Its all done on a best effort basis (understandably its free).

But when you want to do some serious back testing these inconsistencies can make a huge difference.
One maladjustment can make a system look much better than it really is and vice-versa.

How should I solve this problem ?
  • Buy data from somewhere if so please let me know who sells perfect data .
  • Back test on existing DB and manually check each trade very laborious
I have tried manually adjusting the DB for Splits / Bonus but its too time consuming. Additionally I dont have anything to compare it against which I know is 100% correct.

Has anyone purchased data from NSE India site, is it any good. Also is it compatible with any common Technical Analysis programs I dont mind paying for good data.
Please let me know your thoughts.
