Please check Post#1 of Page 1, I have attached another updated version.

File name: NSE BSE EOD Data Downloader _30AUG08.zip

This will download Nifty, Minifty and BankNifty futures EOD data of current, next and far series. I hope you'll like it.

dear xtalk,
Thanks for providing us an utility.I did get the error for nifty/banknifty/mininifty, eror-404(probably server is busy).
Definitely works for me as it is hassle free compared to the conventional forms...
All the best!
p.s:would be helpfull if date parameters are increased,right now we can download 1 months data at a time.

There is no limitations in date parameters as such. I just downloaded from 1st Jan. Please use arrows in the Start-date/end-date dropdown to select a date range. You can click on the month or year to select the range accordingly. Alternatively, you can type in the date field as well.

Also, you may get several 404 errors if you try to download say, last 1 or 2 years of data. And it'll take hours to download from NSE/BSE. To save your time....in this forum you'll get several posts regarding MetaStock latest database dump (split/bonus adjusted).

Thanks for all the exiciting stuff. Please let me know how do I now load the data into Metastock.

Also have u been able to make money due to all this analysis that u might be doing. Just curious to know before I spend time learning all this.

Vipul,

Use MetaStock's 'The Downloader' application to import the data.

In the 'The Downloader' app you need to click Tools->Convert. In Source box..Select the file (say, 04AUG2008.txt) and in Destination box select File type as metastock. You need to mention Destination folder (usually C:\MetaStock Data\NSE Data\) as well.

To your 2nd question...Right now I'm staying away from the volatile market, just waiting for a trend.
