Yahoo Datafeed.

Hi,

At present, is anybody use Yahoo datafeed (EOD).
One year ago,I used it for sometime but my experience was not good with it.
Data was missing,some symbols skips for consecutives days and so on.
If anybody share his present experience, it will be helpful for group.

Hi dalaji,
for EOD data u dont have to use yahoo. Nse bhav copies are gud source for EOD data.

Thanks for suggestion about NSE Bhavcopy but I still need answer what about Yahoo datafeed.

use Convert2metastock sw from trading tools.

Alternatively u can use the downloader from www.invstbulls.com. it converts CSV to TXT automaticaly, and then u can use metastock downloader.

yahoo data is delayed by a day and cosistency is always a problme with yahoo. again the main problem lies when we have a special session, like the muhrat session, or any special trading sessions on saturday (yeah we have them once a while every year) when there will be no data from yahoo for those perticular sessions.

the best option for nse data, as swagat already mentioned is from nse. you can also try http://www.desitradermall.com for eod data.

Some of seniour members of group who might be aware of "Smart Downloader" from Hypertrader.it. At that time it was free and fetch Yahoo data.All were O.K. but after sometime they withdraw free version and now it is available at Euro 25 ( Approx. 1600 Rs.) . This amount is somewhat affordable.So I wanted know about present yahoo datafeed status. Now I won't go for it.

I am not advertising it but important feature of smart downloader was that it can directly update all (repeat ALL) metastock folders in single click. No intermediate conversion.Just open Equis The downloader and click on Express downloader, that's all.

Some of our group members have programmed fine data downloader/converter but I need, rather I wish data downloader of such as Smart downloader.I request some members in private,search on net,invite professionals but no result.

I think CEM eod downloader is good for nse data.
Bse data also can be downloaded but u have to add date column as date format is not there.

if you wish to get yahoo data in metastock format (no conversion needed), then try Meta-All. its a free software.

personally i believe its waste of money, paying for data from an unreliable source.

p.s - infact there is a free software that integrates with the downloader(much like qcenter), but it is in Russian, and will work with Russian version of windows. the enlish version costs around 50 dollers or so.
