Hi addagiri,
Slow is a relative term. A quantitative measure will definately help me understand the performance you are getting. I am on a 64 kbps line provided by my cable operator. Usually it takes around 15 seconds to download the entire bhavcopy and the indices data for one day. Regards, Hemen (aka totalbankrupt) |

Hi Hemen,
Your work is simply great. I was able to download the data along with the indices. It is in the notepad format, can you tell me how to convert the notepad to Excel format, so that it will be good for me to update to my Metastock through the Downloader. One more question, I am new to charting. Can you kindly advice me which software is better. Metastock pro 9.0 or Amibroker 4.90? Thank you timelesstrader. |

YOu do not need to convert it in excel to port it into metastock. The file can be directly imported into metastock without any conversion. Please read my help file at http://hemenkapadia.somee.com/getbha...2.asp#updating which shows the steps how to do it. Metastock pro 9.0 or Amibroker 4.90 ?? Well no idea. I use Metastock though. Hi Hemen,
Great work. It's working. I followed your instructions and was able to convert the data to the Metastock format. Nice work buddy! You really have good programming skills. I tried to download the historical data from the ********** and megaupload. In ********** it says "File not found" and in megaupload I was able to download the file but not able to open it, says it is corrupt or archived. Thanks, timelesstrader.

Hi timelesstrader,
I am still able to download from ********** link, I suggest you try it once. Select the Free option, that will make you wait for 30 seconds or so an then the download will start.... The rapdishare link once again...http://**********.com/files/61052626/NSE_20071004.zip Regards, Hemen (aka totalbankrupt) Last edited by totalbankrupt; 4th November 2007 at 06:12 AM. Hi Hemen,
Thank you, i downloaded the data from **********. I was using DAP for the download and that is the reason it was not working, suddenly DAP stopped working and i was able to download. But there was no Indices data there like, Nifty index, Bank index, IT index, actually i need such data too. Where can i find data for the indices for the last three years? Can you help me find? Thanks, timelesstrader.
